Yeah, he a good coach too. Well last year they were 16-5 and only had 1 senior. They have a sophmore coming back who hit over .500 last year as a freshman. Williams, the QB and punter from the football team returns on the mound and in the outfield. They got a couple junior power hitters coming back too. They'll only have 1 senior this year too so still a pretty young team with mostly sophmores and juniors.

so this is thomas walker's year? just like the lpd and kelly trying to get over gate city, those pioneers still have to get by a very tough castlewood team.

Here is a question somebody might be able to answer, does norton have there annual 2 or 3 guys who are throwing in the high 80's to low 90's?

I never said it was their year!! I believe if you look back at my posts I said they could be a sleeper in the region.

I believe Peters can hit in the 80's, Maybe even throw in the very low 80's.

he must have picked up about 10 mph since last season then. he threw 80% breaking pitches last season.

i played with peters this summer and he can hit probablly atleast the mid to upper 80's....and norton will have some pretty good pitchers but idk about any 90 MPH pitchers

He shut down what amounted to Castlewood's high school team this past summer, a team some on here have dubbed the region runner up to the JJ Kelly Indians. I watched that game with my own two eyes.

didn't say he wasn't a good pitcher, he had a good season last year, but he doesn't throw mid 80's. very few single a pitchers can top 80 with any consistency. if you don't know what on looker was referring to, last year burton had a pitcher on the forum bragging about how 3 of them were throwing in the upper 80s last year prior to the season beginning. nobody ever saw it in action.

kelly had a jv pitcher last year hold castlewood to 2 runs. castlewood's strength was in their pitching last year, not their hitting. if their players took baseball more seriously, they could compete at the state level, but basketball is the game in castlewood right now.

location and change of speed are both much more important in pitching than how hard you can throw.

this thread is developing into a useless bragging contest. gate city is still the three-time defending regular season champion until someone proves otherwise.

it should be another good season in the lpd. all the teams are undefeated right now.
